[Alternative] Seastroke - April

What makes a  band famous is not flashy clothes or a 'tough guy attitude'; it is talent and will to succeed. Seastroke consists of 3 self taught musicians that have worked hard to establish themselves. The use of violin in their songs adds a nice touch to the overall quality of the songs, these guys might be onto something here. These boys have got talent, let's see where it will take them.

[Electro - Pop] Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen

I honestly don't have words for this song, it's just everything you would want from a song - uplifting, inspiring and sincere. Ellie Goulding is no stranger to The Vinyl Wall and it's no surprise as she constantly delivers. She's an underrated artist who has inspired many of her fans, just check out the video for this song where Ellie invited her fans to submit in photo lyrics for the song from Instagram producing a beautiful clip.

[Alternative] Night Panther - Fever

Interesting name, interesting artwork, i'm not sure what to make of it, but funnily enough it represents Night Panthers style of music. Playful, cheery and quite bouncy, these guys like to describe their genre of music as 'hot pop' whatever that may be, fueled by sex, synths and Phil Collins oddly enough. Their other song Snudge was released a while back so check that one out as well.

[Synth - Pop] Capital Cities - Nothing Compares 2 U

Title sound familiar? Well if does it's because this is a cover of an absolute classic, let me assure you that once the verse hits you will recognise it. Our old friend Capital Cities oh how i knew that this would be a match made in heaven for you. You know how much I love these guys and boy did they deliver with this cover, giving it a modern twist with their trademark synths and powerful vocals. Oh Capital Cities, nothing compares to you!

[Indie - Rock] Rah Rah - Art and a Wife

Rah Rah what a name! Full of jangle, lo-fi guitar fuzz, foot-tapping downbeats and bouncy bass, 'Art and a Wife' lyrically spins the age old dilemma of fame versus love, and tenderly opts for the latter. Rah Rah's new album drops sometime in October, shame I don't know the actual date because its definitely one to watch out for in Spring. RAH RAH!

[Dream - Pop] We Are Pirates - When She Goes Away

The track artwork for this song perfectly describes how this song makes me feel. I've not heard of these guys before but they are apparently Brazilian, interestingly enough there's a lot of good music coming out of Brazil in recent times. This song is full of hazy goodness, shimmering synths and a haunting voice that makes this song so fulfilling, I feel as though that this song should've been the theme song of Pilot Wings (for those old enough to remember).

[Alternative] Passion Pit - American Blood

Yes, yes I know Gossamer has been out for awhile now but let me turn your attention to a bonus track that wasn't released with the album. 'American Blood' is a typical Passion Pit song, Michael's chipmunk like vocals on display but unlike some other songs on Gossamer this one really has quite a nice driven feel to it. The reason why bands always have bonus tracks is beyond me, it's definitely good enough to be on the original.

[Alternative] Dracula Palms - Clockwork Horrors

I think the immediate impression we get from this song is "OMG MGMT?" More specifically this song is almost identical to Electric Feel, the chorus especially, try singing it in the same rhythm - I told you so. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, hats off to you, it's not everyday that a band is compared to the psych rock legends that are MGMT but hopefully they can now branch out and create their own signature style.

[Indie - Pop] Two Door Cinema Club - Next Year

What's this you say? Well not like it hasn't happened before but iTunes decided to release the song 'Next Year' in place of 'Sleep Alone', so as many unsuspecting fans found out they had been gifted with two new beautiful gems from TDCC. Album is out on the 30th of August and by the looks of things, or should I say sounds of it, it's going to blow us out of the water.

[Indie - Rock] Rio Rio - Last Flight

I'm back! For my first post back i present you something from the band Rio Rio from San Fran. Now I had heard their debut single 'Gorilla Gorilla', I didn't think much of it but this new single Last Flight has got a lot going for it. Some might say there's a slight hint of TDCC to their style and in my opinion this song reminds me of some of the earlier work by The Killers.
